Handmade Japanese Statuettes: Folklore Creatures in Decorative Format

Dai Yokai statuettes extend the mask universe with creatures from Japanese folklore in a decorative format. They're designed for indoor display (shelves, personal altars, desks), though the varnished finish allows occasional outdoor use under a porch or covered terrace. They stay lightweight, unlike traditional stone garden statues. My first Kitsune statuette was commissioned by a client building a Japanese garden at home, which is what made me want to develop this line. The range is growing steadily: Komainu (lion-dog temple guardian), Kitsune messenger of Inari, with Tanuki, Shishi and other yōkai coming soon. Every piece is made in my Brittany workshop: PETG 3D print, hand-sanded, acrylic-painted, varnished. From €40. Worldwide shipping via Etsy and daiyokai.com.
