In the Inari shrines of Japan, they always stand guard in pairs. Two foxes, two guardians, two facets of the same energy. The Kitsune does not exist alone; it lives in duality, in the balance between the visible and invisible worlds.

The Kitsune: Between Divinity and Mystery

In Japanese mythology, the Kitsune is a being with many faces. Messenger of the gods, protective spirit, trickster capable of taking human form. It accumulates wisdom over time, gaining new tails as it ages. A nine-tailed fox is a near-divine being.

This duo plays on the fundamental duality of the Kitsune:

White Kitsune (Zenko): celestial messenger, purity, protector of Inari

Black Kitsune (Genko): fox of shadows, mystery, earthly power

Two complementary energies. Two facets of the same spirit.
