There are Tengu who teach. There are Tengu who protect. And then there are those who hunt in the darkness of deep forests, invisible until the very last moment. The Black Tengu is not the one you summon. It is the one who arrives without warning.
The Black Tengu: The Silent Threat
In Japanese mythology, the Tengu exists in many forms. The Karasu-Tengu, the crow-tengu, are the wildest, the most instinctive. Black as night, swift as lightning, they embody the dark and unpredictable side of this mountain spirit.
The samurai who wore a black Tengu Mempo wanted to project this same energy: I come from nowhere. You will not see me.

Black is a merciless color; every surface imperfection immediately stands out under the light. I sand this version particularly meticulously before the first coat of primer. What I'm aiming for: a deep, uneven black, with highlights in the recesses that bring each contour to life.
