Two Japanese demons, same model, two contrasting colors. Deep red and steel blue, golden horns and teeth, an expression frozen mid-scream. Printed in PETG, sanded and painted entirely by hand in my workshop in Brittany.

Where they come from: The design is inspired by an Ondeko mask I saw during a trip to Japan. Ondeko (鬼太鼓, oni-daiko, literally "demon drum") is a ritual dance from Sado Island, in Niigata Prefecture. The demonic face, the expression frozen mid-scream: it's this intensity that I wanted to reproduce.

In Japanese folklore, the aka-oni (赤鬼, red demon) and the ao-oni (青鬼, blue demon) form a well-known pair. Fire and water, rage and cold. On a wall, they face each other.

What you receive:

  • 2 Oni Ondeko masks (1 red and gold + 1 blue and gold), varnished finish
  • Cords attached to each mask
  • Portable for use at conventions or as wall decor, the choice is yours.
  • Optional wall mounts (+15 EUR per mask), designed for the angle of inclination

Manufacturing : PETG, not PLA. PETG handles heat better (like in a car in the summer or on a shelf near a window) and doesn't become brittle over time. After printing, I sand each mask by hand to remove layer lines, then apply several coats of acrylic paint, and finally varnish. The red is applied in a deep layer, as is the blue. Both colors are worked on separately, with the same care given to each. Each piece comes out slightly different; it's hand-painted, not screen-printed.

Wear or display : The cords allow you to wear them at conventions or for photo shoots. Many customers buy them to hang: tattoo artists use them as a volume reference for irezumi, or enthusiasts display them symmetrically on the wall. Optional stands display them upright, slightly angled, without drilling into the wall.

FAQ

The two masks are identical except for the color?

Same model, same construction, same varnished finish. The color is the only difference. Each mask has its own micro-variations in paint; this is inherent to handmade work. They will not be exactly identical to one another.

Is it cheaper than buying them both separately?

Yes. Each mask is €120 on its own, or €240 for two. The duo is €216.

Are the stands included?

No. The mask can be placed or hung without it. The stands (+15 EUR per mask) are used if you want to display them upright at the correct angle, without any modifications.

Why PETG and not resin or PLA?

Resin is brittle and heavy, and PLA warps in the heat. PETG is durable, can withstand being run over by a car in the summer, and remains strong. That's what I use for all my masks.

Do you deliver outside of France?

Yes, France and Europe.
