Description

The Neko Hannya Demon Cat Mask combines two strong directions: the angry, transformed Hannya face and the more animal presence of Japanese cat yokai. It is strange, expressive and less expected than a standard demon mask.

Choose it if you like Hannya masks but want a cat-yokai twist. It works well when the display already includes Oni, Kitsune or Nekomata pieces and needs a hybrid face.

Visual style

The mask balances feline details with a demon expression. The hand-painted shadows keep the face readable, while the cat elements make it softer and more unsettling at the same time.

Japanese folklore includes cat yokai such as Nekomata and Bakeneko. This piece is an inspired Dai Yokai creation, not a traditional ritual mask or a direct copy of one story.

Where to place this piece

Hang it near other yokai masks, use it in a tattoo studio corner or place it where the cat silhouette can be understood quickly.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for collectors of Japanese masks, cat-yokai fans, tattoo artists and people who want a Hannya variant with a different personality.

It can be used for photos with a suitable fixing, but it is mainly built for display. The sculpted details may not suit long wear.

Care and placement
