Description
This red and gold Hannya mask is a Dai Yokai interpretation of the jealous demon face from Japanese folklore. The expression is sharp, tense and readable from a distance, with horns and fangs picked out in gold so the face keeps impact on a dark wall.
It is a good choice if you want a Hannya that feels darker and more ceremonial than a clean white theater mask, but still works as a handmade decorative object rather than a ritual item.
Visual style
The red base gives the mask anger and warmth, while the gold details pull attention to the teeth, horns and brow. The textured surface is kept visible so it does not look like a smooth plastic costume mask.

Making process
Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.
The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

It is for collectors, tattoo artists, fans of irezumi motifs and people who want one strong Hannya face rather than a discreet object.
It can be used for photos or event styling with a suitable fixing setup, but it is not made as a comfort-first mask for long wear or ritual practice.
