Description
The Nekomata Japanese Demon Cat Mask is made for people who like the animal side of yokai. It keeps the cat reference clear while pushing the face toward something older, stranger and less domestic.
Choose it if you want a Japanese mask subject that is not another horned demon. It fits well in a collection with Kitsune, Neko Hannya or darker yokai pieces.
Visual style
The mask uses feline lines, pointed features and painted shadows to create a cat-yokai face. The handmade finish keeps small variations in the expression and surface.
Nekomata and Bakeneko are cat yokai found in Japanese folklore. This piece is a Dai Yokai decorative interpretation, not a traditional ritual mask.
Where to place this piece
Place it on a wall, shelf display or tattoo studio corner where the cat silhouette can be read clearly.
For the broader product family, see the handmade Japanese masks. For background, read the Nekomata and Bakeneko guide.
Making process
Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.
The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.
Who it is for
It is for cat-yokai fans, collectors, tattoo artists and people who want a folklore piece with an animal face.
It can be used for photos if the fixing works for you, but it is primarily built for display and should stay indoors.
Before ordering
Use the photos, options and additional information on the page before ordering. If the piece is for a wall, booth, outfit or gift, measure the space first and choose the finish that fits the setting.
Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.
Care and placement
Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.
