Description
This contemporary Traditional Hannya Mask uses the recognisable horns, fangs and tense expression associated with Hannya imagery. Choose white, blue, red or purple depending on the display, collection or photographic setting.
Choose this piece if you want a hand-painted Hannya-inspired wall mask with a direct, traditional-looking silhouette. It is a modern Dai Yokai creation, not an antique, historical reproduction or mask made for Noh performance.
Visual style
The sculpt focuses on the eyes, brow, teeth and horns so the relief remains readable from across a room. White, blue, red and purple use the same PETG form with distinct hand-painted colour directions and gold details.
Hannya masks are often linked with jealousy and emotional transformation. This version treats that subject with respect while staying honest: it is a modern handmade decorative mask, not a ritual object.
Where to place this piece
Place it where the face can be seen directly: above a desk, near tattoo flash, in a cosplay room, on a gallery wall or beside other Japanese masks.
For the broader product family, see the Hannya masks. For background, read the Hannya meaning guide.
Making process
Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.
The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.
Who it is for
It is for Hannya collectors, irezumi fans, tattoo artists and buyers looking for a handmade Hannya-inspired display piece.
The mask is intended primarily for indoor display and photography. Any occasional wear requires a suitable fixing setup and a fit check; it is not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.
Before ordering
Choose white, blue, red or purple before adding the mask to the cart. Current product data lists each finish at approximately 18.78 × 11.05 × 26.93 cm and 0.185 kg. The optional €15 stand is included only when selected before ordering.
Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.
Care and placement
Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.
