Description
This bare-face Articulated Kuchisake-Onna Mask focuses on the mouth, expression and moving-jaw effect. It keeps the Japanese urban legend readable without adding hair, which makes the piece cleaner to display and easier to store.
Choose this version if you want the Kuchisake expression first: the face, the mouth and the tension. It is less bulky than the long-hair version and works well for close-up photos.
Visual style
The mask relies on the cut-mouth line, the jaw movement and hand-painted shadows. The bare-face version keeps the silhouette simpler, so the expression does most of the work.
Kuchisake-onna is a Japanese urban legend, often translated as the slit-mouthed woman. This is a Dai Yokai horror interpretation for display and styling, not a traditional ritual object.

Making process
Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.
The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

It is for horror collectors, cosplayers, tattoo artists and people who want a Japanese urban legend mask without the extra volume of hair.
The lower jaw is a separate articulated section designed for visual movement. Its response depends on fit and handling, so do not assume it will automatically mirror every wearer’s mouth. Use the mechanism gently. This is a decorative and costume piece, not protective equipment or a mask for rough, prolonged wear.
