Description

The Kuchisake Tentacles Collab Mask is a contemporary collaboration between Dai Yokai and Melissa of Adopte ton Poulpe. It combines a Kuchisake-onna-inspired slit-mouth design with organic tentacle forms. The tentacles are a collaborative horror element, not part of the Japanese urban legend or a traditional mask design.

Choose it if you want a horror piece that does not look like a standard Hannya, Oni or ghost mask. It is made for people who want a more experimental face in the collection.

Visual style

The mouth opening and tentacle forms create the main visual rhythm. Hand-painted shadows separate the shapes so the piece remains readable in photographs and on display.

The mask starts from Japanese urban legend imagery, then moves into a collab horror direction. It is a modern decorative art mask, not a traditional or ritual object.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

It is for horror collectors, tattoo artists, cosplayers and people who prefer unusual Dai Yokai pieces over classic folklore faces.

This piece is best suited to indoor display, photography and careful styling. Handle the projecting tentacle details gently and do not lift the mask by them. It is a contemporary decorative and costume piece, not protective equipment or a mask for rough, prolonged wear.
