The Oni Gawara mask is inspired by protective demon faces used on Japanese roof tiles. The face is fierce, but the idea is not just to frighten. It works as a guardian image, a strong wall piece made to watch over an entryway, shelf, tattoo studio or Japanese-inspired room.

This Dai Yokai version keeps the roof-guardian feeling while staying light enough for wall display. Each piece is made to order in Brittany and painted by hand.

Where the inspiration comes from

Oni Gawara are decorative roof tiles shaped with an Oni face. They appear on temples, castles and traditional buildings, where the demon expression is meant to push away bad influences. This mask keeps that protective reading through the horns, teeth, strong brow and hand-painted shadows.

Choosing a finish

Red gives the most direct Oni presence. Cracked blue feels colder, mineral and more aged. Cracked red keeps the guardian energy with a deeper textured surface. Each finish is painted by hand, so cracks, shadows and gold details can vary slightly.

Wearing or displaying it

This model is primarily made for wall display. It can be held or used briefly for photos, but it is more practical as decor than as a long-wear mask. It works well near an entrance, above a desk, behind a tattoo station or on a convention booth wall.

Shipping

Each piece is made to order, packed carefully and shipped with tracking from France. The usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.

This is an artisanal object, not an industrial plastic prop. The surface, shadows and small painted details should be handled with the same care as a hand-finished decorative piece.
