Description

The Traditional Kitsune Mask is a single fox-mask design available in white, black or red. Choose the colour that best suits the display or styling; the sculpt, PETG base and handmade workshop process remain the same.

Choose this product if you want one traditional-style Kitsune mask rather than the black-and-white duo or the modern sculpt. Each colour is €130 and made to order.

Visual style

The three colours use the same fox sculpt. White gives the strongest light contrast, black creates a lower-key display and red is the most vivid option. Painted lines, shadows and varnish vary slightly because each piece is finished by hand.

Kitsune are fox figures linked with transformation, Inari and trickster stories depending on the source and tradition. This is a contemporary Dai Yokai decorative mask, not an official shrine object, ritual mask or historical replica. Colour alone does not identify a fixed type of Kitsune.

Where to place this piece

Use it on an indoor wall, a suitable stand or a display shelf. The single-mask format also works for photography and careful costume styling without requiring the space of a two-mask composition.

For the broader product family, see the Kitsune masks. For background, read the Kitsune mask meaning guide.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for Kitsune fans, cosplayers, collectors and gift buyers who want one handmade fox mask with a clear choice of colour.

The mask is intended primarily for indoor display, photography and careful costume styling. Any occasional wear requires suitable fixing and a fit check. It is not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.

Before ordering

Use the photos, options and additional information on the page before ordering. If the piece is for a wall, booth, outfit or gift, measure the space first and choose the finish that fits the setting.

Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.

Care and placement

Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can this mask be worn?

This mask is made mainly for indoor wall display and photography. Any occasional wear requires a suitable fixing setup and a fit check; it is not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.

Is it suitable for wall display?

Yes. The Traditional Kitsune Mask works well on a wall, shelf, display case, tattoo studio wall or convention booth. Keep it indoors and away from damp rooms.

How is it made?

It is made to order in the Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then sanded, primed, hand-painted with acrylic layers and varnished.

Is each piece identical?

No. The shape stays the same, but sanding marks, painted shadows, colour depth and varnish can vary slightly because the finish is done by hand.

Which colours are available?

The product is available in white, black or red. Each option uses the same sculpt, PETG construction and handmade process, and each colour costs €130.

What is included with the product?

You receive one Traditional Kitsune Mask in the selected colour. The optional €15 add-on is one display stand and is included only when selected before adding the mask to the cart.

How is this different from the black-and-white duo?

This product contains one mask in white, black or red. The separate Black and White Kitsune Mask Duo contains two coordinated masks and is intended for a larger paired display.

Which colour should I choose?

Choose white for strong light contrast, black for a lower-key display or red for the most vivid result. These are visual choices for this Dai Yokai design, not a fixed good-versus-evil code in Japanese folklore.
