Description

This Large-Format Tengu Mask is made for presence. The long nose, stern face and larger silhouette make it more visible than a compact mask, especially on a wall or in a studio display.

Choose it if you want the Tengu shape to be the main piece in a room rather than a small accent. It needs enough space around it to keep the profile readable.

Visual style

The mask works through profile and shadow. The long nose gives it distance impact, while the hand-painted finish keeps the brow, cheeks and mouth from looking flat.

Tengu are supernatural figures associated with mountains in Japanese folklore. The long-nosed human form is commonly called a Daitengu. This Dai Yokai piece is a contemporary display mask inspired by that imagery, not an antique, ritual object or official traditional mask.

Where to place this piece

Display it indoors on a stable shelf, suitable stand or in a display case where the long profile remains visible. Wall mounting requires a separate suitable fixing method that is not currently specified.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for collectors, photographers, tattoo artists and buyers who want a large Tengu subject with a pronounced long-nosed profile.

The gallery does not show the mask being worn, and the listing does not specify an included strap or fixing system. Treat it as an indoor display and photography piece; it is not protective equipment.

Before ordering

The mask costs €120 and current product data lists a weight of 0.2 kg. Exact dimensions and an included fixing system are not shown. The optional display stand adds €15 only when selected.

Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.

Care and placement

Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can this mask be worn?

The gallery does not show the mask being worn, and the listing does not specify an included strap or fixing system. Any occasional wear requires a suitable separate setup and fit check; it is not protective equipment.

Is it suitable for wall display?

It is suitable for indoor display on a stable stand, shelf or in a display case. Wall mounting requires a separate suitable fixing system that is not currently specified. Keep the painted surface away from damp rooms and long direct sun exposure.

How is it made?

It is made to order in the Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then sanded, primed, hand-painted with acrylic layers and varnished.

Is each piece identical?

No. The shape stays the same, but sanding marks, painted shadows, colour depth and varnish can vary slightly because the finish is done by hand.

What finish is shown in the gallery?

The finished gallery views show a deep red face with black brows, moustache, beard and eye detailing. Because the paint and surface finish are completed by hand, small differences between pieces are normal.

What does the €120 price include?

The €120 base price includes one made-to-order Large-Format Tengu Mask. The optional black display stand adds €15 only when selected.

What size and weight is the mask?

Current product data lists a weight of 0.2 kg. Exact dimensions are not currently shown and should be confirmed before ordering if fit or display space is important.

How is it different from the Traditional Tengu Mask?

Choose this model for its larger-looking sculpt, deep red-and-black finish and pronounced long nose. The Traditional Tengu Mask is a separate, more classic design with red, white and blue colour options. Compare both galleries and product specifications before choosing.
