Description

The Modern Kitsune Mask is one contemporary fox-mask sculpt available in five finishes: white, black, burgundy, cracked red or cracked blue. The PETG base and workshop process stay the same; the selected paint direction changes the final display.

Choose this product if you want a graphic modern fox shape and a wider finish choice. The separate Traditional Kitsune Mask uses a more classic fox silhouette with white, black or red options.

Visual style

The sculpt uses a compact fox silhouette and graphic painted lines. White, black and burgundy provide solid color directions, while cracked red and cracked blue add a painted crack-effect surface.

Kitsune are fox figures linked with transformation, Inari and trickster stories depending on the source and tradition. This is a contemporary Dai Yokai decorative mask, not an official shrine object, ritual mask or historical replica. The five finishes are design choices, not fixed folklore categories.

Where to place this piece

Use it on an indoor wall, a suitable stand or a display shelf. The single-mask format also works for photography and careful costume styling.

For the broader product family, see the Kitsune masks. For background, read the Kitsune mask meaning guide.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for Kitsune fans, cosplayers, gift buyers and collectors who want one handmade fox mask with a modern sculpt and a clear finish choice.

The mask is intended primarily for indoor display, photography and careful costume styling. Any occasional wear requires suitable fixing and a fit check. It is not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.

Before ordering

Use the photos, options and additional information on the page before ordering. If the piece is for a wall, booth, outfit or gift, measure the space first and choose the finish that fits the setting.

Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.

Care and placement

Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can this mask be worn?

This mask is made mainly for indoor wall display and photography. Any occasional wear requires a suitable fixing setup and a fit check; it is not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.

Is it suitable for wall display?

Yes. The Modern Kitsune Mask works well on a wall, shelf, display case, tattoo studio wall or convention booth. Keep it indoors and away from damp rooms.

How is it made?

It is made to order in the Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then sanded, primed, hand-painted with acrylic layers and varnished.

Is each piece identical?

No. The shape stays the same, but sanding marks, painted shadows, color depth and varnish can vary slightly because the finish is done by hand.

Which finishes are available?

Choose white, black, burgundy, cracked red or cracked blue. Each option uses the same sculpt, PETG construction and handmade process, and each finish costs €120.

What is included with the product?

You receive one Modern Kitsune Mask in the selected finish. The optional €15 add-on is one display stand and is included only when selected before adding the mask to the cart.

What does the cracked finish mean?

Cracked red and cracked blue use a painted crack-effect treatment over the mask surface. The effect is decorative and intentional; it does not mean that the PETG base is physically cracked or damaged.

How is this different from the Traditional Kitsune Mask?

Choose the Modern Kitsune Mask for its graphic sculpt and five finish options. Choose the separate Traditional Kitsune Mask for a more classic fox silhouette in white, black or red. Both are single PETG masks finished by hand in Brittany.
