Description

The Oni Ondeko Mask Duo contains two contemporary masks based on the same sculpt, one red and one blue, with gold accents. The contrast is a Dai Yokai display choice; it is not presented as a fixed traditional Ondeko colour pairing.

Choose the duo if you want a stronger wall composition than a single Oni. The pair works well around a doorway, a tattoo station, a large print or a convention display.

Visual style

The two faces share the same Ondeko family but use colour to create contrast. Gold details and hand-painted shadows keep the horns, teeth and brows visible from a distance.

Ondeko, also called Onidaiko, is a masked drum dance from Sado Island. Traditions vary between villages, and the Oni represent protective deities or divine messengers. These masks are contemporary Dai Yokai interpretations inspired by that visual world, not authentic festival masks, replicas or ritual objects.

Where to place this piece

Hang them side by side or place them on either side of a central object. The matching sculpt and contrasting colours make the pair easy to read as one display.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for Oni collectors, tattoo artists and people who want a coordinated contemporary pair rather than choosing one colour. The red and blue contrast suits symmetrical wall displays and photography.

The masks are intended primarily for indoor wall display, photography and careful styling. Any occasional wear requires suitable fixing and a fit check. They are not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.
