About this piece

A Japanese demon mask that you can wear or display on a wall. Deep red, with golden teeth and horns, its expression frozen mid-scream. Printed in PETG, sanded and painted entirely by hand in my workshop in Brittany.

Where he comes from
The design is inspired by an Ondeko mask I saw during a trip to Japan. Ondeko (鬼太鼓, oni-daiko, literally "demon drum") is a ritual dance from Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture. The demonic face, the expression frozen mid-scream: it's this intensity that I wanted to recreate.

What you receive

Oni Ondeko mask, red and gold, varnished finish
Attached cords
Portable for use at conventions or as wall decor, the choice is yours.
Optional wall mount (+15 EUR), designed for the mask's tilt angle

To wear it
If you plan to wear it (convention, photo shoot), I recommend adding an elastic cord: it's more comfortable and more stable over time than a fixed knot. The cords provided are sufficient for decorative use or short-term wear.

Manufacturing:
PETG, not PLA. PETG handles heat better (like in a car in the summer or on a shelf near a window) and doesn't become brittle over time. After printing, I sand each mask by hand to remove the layer lines, then apply acrylic paint, and finally varnish. The red is applied in several coats to maintain depth. Each mask comes out slightly different; it's hand-painted, not screen-printed.

Wear or display:
The cords allow it to be carried, at conventions or for photo shoots. Many customers, however, take it to hang: tattoo artists who use it as a volume reference for irezumi, or enthusiasts who display it on the wall. The optional stand presents it upright, slightly angled, without drilling into the wall.

Shipping:
Shipped from Brittany, reinforced packaging. France and Europe.

FAQ

Is the mask actually worn or is it just decorative?
Both. To wear it, I recommend adding an elastic cord for comfort. Many clients buy it primarily for display or as a tattoo reference.

Why PETG and not resin or PLA?
Resin is brittle and heavy, and PLA warps in the heat. PETG is durable, can withstand being run over by a car in the summer, and remains strong. That's what I use for all my masks.

Is it exactly the same paint as in the photos?
Very close, but never identical down to the pixel. Everything is hand-painted, so each piece has its own micro-variations. This is intentional.

Is the support absolutely necessary?
No. The mask can be placed or hung without it. The stand (+15 EUR) is useful if you want to display it upright at the correct angle, without any modifications.

Do you deliver outside of France?
Yes, France and Europe.
