Description

The Red Oni Ondeko Mask is the warmer, more direct version of the Ondeko face. The red finish gives the demon a clear presence and makes it easy to read as an Oni from across a room.

Choose it if you want one strong Oni mask with a specific story behind it, but without needing the full red-blue duo. It works well as a central wall piece.

Visual style

The horns, teeth and brow carry the expression. Gold details add contrast, while the hand-painted shadows keep the face from looking flat under indoor light.

Niigata University Asahimachi Museum describes Oni Daiko, locally known as Ondeko, as one of Sado Island’s traditional performing arts. This Dai Yokai mask is a contemporary decorative interpretation inspired by that imagery, not an official ritual, festival or historical mask.

Where to place this piece

Hang it in a tattoo studio, creative room, convention booth or Japanese-inspired display where the red face can act as the main point of attention.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for Oni collectors, tattoo artists, irezumi fans and people who want a red Japanese demon mask with a more precise reference than a generic Oni.

The mask is sold primarily for indoor wall display and short staged photography. WooCommerce data does not confirm dimensions, internal attachment, fit or field of vision. Contact Dai Yokai before ordering if you need comfortable convention wear, repeated movement or prolonged use.

Before ordering

Choose Red or Blue before adding the mask to the cart. Both finishes cost €120 and this listing includes one mask. The optional €15 stand is included only when selected. Dimensions are not confirmed, so contact Dai Yokai for a size-sensitive wall or wearable setup.

Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.

Care and placement

Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.
