About this piece
The Hannya Mempo Samurai Half Mask crosses two Japanese registers: the line of a samurai face guard and the face of the Hannya, the jealousy demon of Noh theatre. It covers the lower face, keeps the eyes free and works as a lighter format than a full mask for photos, conventions or display.
Choosing a colour
Three hand-painted colours: red, blue or black. Red stays closest to the classic Hannya read you see in irezumi, blue feels colder and more distant, black more restrained. Each piece varies slightly, which is normal on hand-painted work.

How it's made
I 3D-print the base in PETG, rework the surface by hand, then build the shadows and colour in several passes so the expression stays readable. The point is not a flat costume finish. I want something closer to a crafted object than raw print.
Wear it or display it
The half-mask format leaves the eyes free and stays easier to wear than a full-face Hannya. It works for photos, conventions, shelves or wall display.
Shipping
Tracked shipping from France, careful packaging, and production time depends on the workshop queue.
