Description
The Red Samurai Mempo Half Mask concentrates a stylised nose guard, cheek lines and dark teeth in a lower-face sculpt. The gallery shows the eye area left open and the piece held from front and three-quarter angles. It is sold as a contemporary handmade art mask, not historical samurai equipment.
Choose it for photography, a tattoo-studio display, a shelf or careful costume styling. The red and black finish is fixed on this product; exact dimensions and an included strap or fixing system are not currently stated on the page.
Visual style
The red field, black painted contours and dark teeth define the mask. Hand-painted shadows reinforce the nose, cheek and mouth relief so the armour-influenced silhouette remains readable in both gallery views.
Historical Mempo and other Mengu were armour components commonly made from iron and lacquer. This Dai Yokai piece borrows the lower-face silhouette but uses PETG and a hand-painted finish; it is not antique armour, a historical replica or protective equipment.
Where to place this piece
Use it on a stand, shelf, wall hook, cosplay setup or tattoo studio display. It pairs well with samurai prints, katana imagery and darker masks.
Browse the Mempo half-masks. Compare this fixed red design with the colour and teeth options on the Oni Mempo Half Mask, or with the demon expression of the Hannya Mempo Samurai Half Mask. For background, read the Mempo and Mengu guide.
Making process
Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.
The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.
Who it is for
It is for photographers, tattoo artists, collectors and buyers who want a compact red lower-face mask with an armour-influenced silhouette.
Any occasional wear requires a suitable fixing setup and a fit check. The page does not currently specify an included strap, and the mask is not protective equipment or intended for rough, prolonged wear.
Before ordering
The mask costs €40 and current product data lists a weight of 0.1 kg; exact dimensions are not shown. The gallery contains front and three-quarter views. The optional €15 display stand is included only when selected.
Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.
Care and placement
Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.
