Description

The Red Samurai Mempo Half Mask is built around the lower face, jaw and armor mood rather than a full demon face. It gives a strong samurai-inspired look while staying lighter to display than a full mask.

Choose it if you want a red Mempo that can work with costumes, studio decor or a display stand. It is more direct and martial than a Hannya or Kitsune mask.

Visual style

The red finish gives the half-mask energy, while the sculpted mouth and hand-painted shadows keep the armor reference readable.

Mempo and Mengu are linked with Japanese armor history. This Dai Yokai piece is inspired by those forms, but it is a modern handmade decorative mask, not protective equipment or an antique armor part.

Making process

Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.

The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.

Who it is for

It is for cosplayers, tattoo artists, collectors and people who want a Japanese armor-inspired half-mask.

It can be worn for photos and short events if the fixing suits you, but it is not protective gear and comfort depends on your setup.

Care and placement
