Description
The Hand-Painted Tengu Half Mask takes the Tengu subject into a smaller lower-face format. It is easier to style with clothing than a full long-nosed mask, while still keeping a clear Japanese yokai reference.
Choose it if you like Tengu but need a piece that is more wearable-looking, easier to display on a stand and less bulky than a full-face version.
Visual style
The mask relies on color, mouth shape and hand-painted shadows instead of the long nose. That makes it more compact, but still tied to the Tengu family.
Tengu are mountain spirits in Japanese folklore. This half-mask is inspired by the subject and by Mempo proportions, but it is not a traditional armor piece or ritual mask.
Where to place this piece
Place it on a stand, shelf, wall hook or cosplay setup. It can sit beside full Tengu masks as a smaller companion piece.
For the broader product family, see the Mempo half-masks. For background, read the Tengu mask guide.
Making process
Each piece is made to order in my Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then cleaned, sanded, primed, painted by hand with acrylic layers and finished with varnish.
The aim is to keep a visible handmade surface: shadows in the relief, small variations in the painted details and a finish that does not look like flat factory plastic.
Who it is for
It is for cosplayers, collectors, tattoo artists and people who want a Tengu reference in a compact half-mask.
It can be worn for photos or short events with suitable fixing, but comfort and visibility depend on your face shape and setup.
Before ordering
Use the photos, options and additional information on the page before ordering. If the piece is for a wall, booth, outfit or gift, measure the space first and choose the finish that fits the setting.
Shipping is tracked from France. As the piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.
Care and placement
Keep the piece indoors, away from long direct sun exposure and damp rooms. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. Do not soak it or use aggressive cleaning products on the painted finish.

Frequently asked questions
Can this mask be worn?
A cord is included with the mask. Occasional wear for a photo or costume is possible after trying it on. Fit, comfort and field of vision depend on your face shape and must be checked before longer wear. Adding thin foam is recommended for longer wear, at your own expense: no foam or elastic strap is included.
Is it suitable for wall display?
Yes. The Hand-Painted Tengu Half Mask works well on a wall, shelf, display case, tattoo studio wall or convention booth. Keep it indoors and away from damp rooms.
How is it made?
It is made to order in the Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany, France. The base is 3D printed in PETG, then sanded, primed, hand-painted with acrylic layers and varnished.
Is each piece identical?
No. The shape stays the same, but sanding marks, painted shadows, color depth and varnish can vary slightly because the finish is done by hand.
Is it a good choice for a tattoo studio?
Yes, if the Hand-Painted Tengu Half Mask matches the mood of the studio. It gives a clear Japanese folklore reference without needing a large installation.
How can I display it?
You can hang it on a wall, place it on a suitable stand, use a shelf or build a small display area with books, prints or other Japanese-inspired objects.
Can I request a color variation?
If a color or finish option is shown on the product page, you can choose it before ordering. For a specific request, contact me first so I can confirm feasibility.
Which mask should I choose if I hesitate?
Choose the Hand-Painted Tengu Half Mask if its expression, color and format fit your display first. If you hesitate, compare it with the linked category before ordering.
