Description
The Irezumi Oni Mask is a Dai Yokai creation inspired by Japanese folklore and the visual energy of irezumi tattoo work. The goal is not to copy an existing tattoo motif, but to keep the same presence: a strong face, sharp contrasts, deep red or burgundy tones, black shadows, gold details and a glossy finish.
The finish is chosen directly on the product page: Fire red or Burgundy. Because each mask is painted by hand, small differences can appear from one piece to another, especially in the shadows, gold details and depth of the red.
Where the inspiration comes from
Tattoodo’s Japanese tattoo style guide highlights characteristic motifs, bold shading and visual readability. This contemporary Dai Yokai mask borrows that graphic contrast through its Fire Red or Burgundy base, black shadows and gold details. It is inspired by irezumi visual language, but it is not a tattoo design, traditional Japanese mask, ritual object or historical reproduction.
It is made for people who like Japanese folklore, tattoo culture, manga conventions and strong Japanese-inspired decor. Compare the handmade Oni mask collection, read the Oni tattoo and irezumi guide, or add a separate mask display stand.

Making process
Each piece is printed in PETG, a material more resistant than standard PLA for this type of object. After printing, I work the surface by hand: visible marks are removed, the mask is sanded, primed and painted in several layers.
The colour work is built gradually. Red or burgundy forms the base, black shadows strengthen the volumes, and gold details catch the light on the horns, teeth and selected areas of the face. The final glossy varnish gives the lacquered look and helps protect the paint.
Wearing or displaying it
The mask can be worn for photos, conventions or short staged scenes. It is not intended for long conversations because the inner tongue touches the mouth. Fit, internal attachment and field of vision are not standardized, so contact Dai Yokai before ordering for prolonged or movement-heavy wear.
For display, a simple cord is included. You can hang it on a wall, use your own fixing system, or add the optional stand to place it on a desk, shelf, convention booth or display case.
Before ordering
Choose Fire Red or Burgundy before adding the mask to the cart. Both finishes cost €140 and are currently available. A cord is included for wall display. The optional €15 stand is added only when selected. The confirmed size is approximately 23.6 × 15.9 × 30.1 cm.
Shipping
The mask is carefully packed, then shipped with tracking from France. Shipping is available to France, Europe and international destinations. Because each piece is made to order, the usual making time is around 14 working days before dispatch.
